PCs (lvl 6): Aegis, Elroy, Mor, Telkhad, Vica, Zullrik
The PCs knock the magewrights out, and proceed to the next room. There they find the personal study of Garavantus d'Cannith, the dragonmarked artificer in charge of the operation. The party knocks him also out, but are then confronted by his Stone Defenders, a couple of golem-like creatures perfectly camouflaged with the room's walls.
Having destroyed the defenders, the party enters the main lab, where they try to convince the other magewrights that their presence is legit. The ruse falls short, and the magewrights call for help. Hobgoblin mercenaries begin to storm the room, and the PCs use explosive magic to fight the opposition.
The situation rapidly escalates in an all-out fight. The Cannith magewrights begin to abandon the compound, while the PCs take care of the mercenaries. When the last of them has been defeated, the party explores the upper floor, and in the library they find what they were looking for. A lonely gnome is hiding among the scrolls, looking with surprise at the PCs.
